John Cena’s Final Match: 2025 Date Confirmed for Farewell Tour, Commemorative Collectible Announced
WWE enthusiasts now have a definitive date to bid farewell to John Cena’s in-ring career, as the wrestler-turned-movie star has officially confirmed his final match will take place on December 13, 2025. The event, headlining Saturday Night’s Main Event at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., marks the culmination of a year-long farewell tour and celebrates one of professional wrestling’s most decorated careers.
With a record 17 world championships, five United States Championships, two Royal Rumble triumphs, and a tenure widely celebrated as one of the most electrifying in the history of “sports entertainment,” Cena, 48, will conclude his grappling journey. The milestone match follows his victory at WrestleMania 41, where he secured his 17th world title, and international tours as he transitions from the ring. “One last dance. Final Final 12/13/25,” the star confirmed, while his Hollywood career flourishes with credits including Bumblebee, Trainwreck, and Blockers.
While his opponent remains unconfirmed, the event is expected to sell out rapidly, with tickets going on sale October 17. For exclusive pre-sale details, click here.

To immortalize this historic moment, Ghostwrite—collaborating with Cena and WWE—has unveiled a 11-inch “ghost” doll. The partially transparent figurine, adorned with iconic imagery from Cena’s career, is limited to 100 units (75 available to the public). “Ghosts tell stories, and few narratives are as compelling as this: John Cena’s final match, over two decades in the making,” said Ghostwrite founder Josh Luber.
The doll will be auctioned via a Blind Dutch Auction from now until October 2 at 9:00 PM ET. The top 75 bidders will secure the commemorative piece. To participate, click here.
