Samantha Rice Claims Defensive Title and Sets Four World Records at King & Queen of the Platform
American powerlifter Samantha Rice showcased exceptional dominance at the fifth King & Queen of the Platform event, successfully defending her title while shattering four world records—including the heaviest deadlift ever recorded for a female powerlifter.
Competing in the under 90kg weight class, Rice, affectionately nicknamed “Quads Like Mom” on Instagram, delivered a historic performance on December 7, 2025, in Port Charlotte, Florida. Her achievements across three powerlifting disciplines are as follows:
Deadlift: She achieved a groundbreaking 655.9 pounds (297.5 kg), securing the world record for the heaviest deadlift in women’s powerlifting.
Squat: Rice improved upon her prior record with a lift of 622.8 pounds (282.5 kg).
Bench Press: She completed a substantial 359.4 pounds (163 kg), setting new records both in the under 90kg division and as the highest bench press of the entire competition.
Collectively, these feats accounted for four world records broken during her performance.
Reflecting on the significance of the moment, Rice emphasized, “This achievement holds profound personal meaning, particularly with my daughter Ava by my side. This was only her second time attending one of my competitions in person. She played a critical role in my final training weeks by assisting with the monolift arms, and she rightfully deserves to share this milestone.”
The event marked Rice’s 24th victory in sanctioned powerlifting competitions, extending her undefeated streak. Her next competition will be The Bar Showdown in Crestview, Florida, scheduled for March, where she has vowed, “Even greater lifts are imminent—I am far from concluding my journey.”
